With the arrival of a new Starbucks on Pine Lake Avenue, neighboring Dunkin Donuts faces potential competition.

This addition aids the transformation in a better LaPorte while also making the choice of which coffee we consume more difficult. Numerous jobs and a new hangout space have been supplied through the project.

Ten students of New Prairie agree with this statement and were interviewed to choose between the orange or green straw, the reasoning for their choice, and their favorite drink.

The results were clear: Starbucks won this poll 6-4. However, the Dunkin Donuts enthusiasts still stood by their opinions.

Senior Paige Barenthin, former Dunkin employee, said, “I feel like Dunkin has a lot more flavor options for their drinks.

It is also less costly and provides more food options, especially the donuts.”

Although restaurants may have their advantages, they also have their disadvantages. Whether it be too much flavor or insufficient menu options, no coffee joint ever has a perfect balance.

"After all, you can never go wrong with a good cup of coffee."

“In Starbucks, you can actually taste the coffee,” current Starbucks employee Jacob Thornton states. “We also have a better menu selection for food options far more variations of the same drink.”

While Starbucks may have triumphed in this voting, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and tastebuds. After all, you can never go wrong with a good cup of coffee.
