Love music and need something to do this year? There’s plenty of music festivals in 2019 close...ish to New Prairie.

In Illinois, there are quite a few. Starting on May 18th, there is Chicago Open Air. This renowned metal festival features bands such as System Of A Down, Ghost, Tool, Beartooth, and more. Tickets to Chicago Open Air start at around $70.

Additionally, starting on August 1st is the ever famous Lollapalooza. This year’s line-up features plenty of highly regarded artists including Twenty One Pilots, 21 Savage, Ariana Grande, and Bring Me The Horizon. Single day tickets start at $130.

Towards the end of the year, there’s Riot Fest. While the line-up won’t be announced for some time, Riot Fest is famous for punk rock and alternative acts such as Blink-182, Paramore, and The Original Misfits.

Ohio has its own solid set of events this year. One of the big ones is Sonic Temple, and it starts on May 17th. It has performances from bands including Disturbed, Halestorm, Papa Roach, and plenty more.

In Cincinnati, there’s a relatively young festival that starts on May 31st, called Bunbury Music Festival. Featuring artists like Fall Out Boy, Machine Gun Kelly, and The 1975, this festival promises to be a grand weekend. Single day tickets are around $80. There are a couple of other festivals in Ohio, but they have yet to release artist lists.

In Michigan, there’s also quite a few including the popular Electric Forest festival. EF has Bassnectar, Gorgon City, Odesza, and Zeds Dead as headliners this year. The festival starts on June 27th.

For more information on festivals around the globe, you can find information at the Music Festival Wizard website.
