New Prairie High School held a Sadie Hawkins dance on January 13th at Silver Palace in LaPorte for the mid-year dance.

Unlike last year’s Fall Ball or Mistletoe Ball, NPHS hosted a Sadie Hawkins dance. A Sadie Hawkins dance is a girls ask boys dance.

“At first it was a little cheesy because no one was on the dance floor, but later on people started dancing which made it fun,” said senior Jamie Pavlekovich.

The dance was flooded with well dressed students from all classes, having fun mingling amongst peers and dancing.

“I enjoyed most of the music that the DJ was playing and I loved seeing all of my friends having fun,” said junior Anna Clemons. New Prairie High School held a Sadie Hawkins dance on January 13th at Silver Palace in LaPorte for the mid-year dance.

Other than music being provided, there were as cupcakes, pretzels, trail mix, water and lemonade available unless students had purchased VIP tickets, which allowed drinks and snacks to be served to them as they sat in another area than the lower level.

“I liked not having to find a table and already having snacks there,” said VIP ticket holder junior Hannah Roberts.

"The Sadie Hawkins dance was enjoyed by students and allowed them to spend a Saturday having safe fun."

The only downside at the dance seemed to be how small the dance floor was.

“The dance was amazing other than the dance floor being so small and crowded,” said Clemons.

Pavlekovich and Roberts both agreed with Clemons on the size of floor for the amount of students on it dancing.
