The Merge of Language Honor Societies

by Violeta Mendez

International Honors Society is a club where students get together to study Spanish and French.

Since the departure of Gregory Miller, French and Spanish Honor Society have come together as one, becoming International Honor Society.

“French Honor Society kind of dropped off after Mr. Miller resigned last year,”

“They (French Honors Society) haven’t had a chapter since Miller left and it’s kind of exciting for them because they can finally have that chapter.” said Amanda Davis, who taught Spanish for two years before she joined the English department.

With no one sponsoring French Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society voted for French to tag along with Spanish to become a bigger group.

“Spanish Honor Society voted for whether or not they would have wanted it merged or have it separate and they were all for having it merged,” stated Davis,

Since the decision of having both societies merged, both groups can now help each other.”

“It’s nice having both groups merged together because they can now help each other with the different events we would like to plan,” said Mrs. Davis.

Be sure to be on the lookout for the future events that International Honors Society will plan on Twitter @nphscougarnews.
