As the 2018-19 school year rolled in, so did a new librarian.

The Cougars newest addition to its staff is Blake Holman. Holman has started off his first year at New Prairie just right. Holman is going to do just fine right where he’s at.

Holman, a previous social studies teacher from Southern Wisconsin spoke about his first days at New Prairie.

“I’m really impressed with how welcoming everyone has been,” Holman said about the staff and students at New Prairie. How impressed he is shows how he feels towards the the entire student body already. He’s only been at NP since the beginning of this quarter, but he has made it clear what his wishes are.

“I’d definitely like to be here long term,” Holman said.

He explained how much he already liked it here. He has a strong feeling that he’ll be here for a really long time.

Holman is from the southern part of Wisconsin. He moved here because his fiancé just recently got a job at Notre Dame. Crazy enough, she’s also a librarian.

When asked if he’d like to run any clubs or coach anything while here, he said that he’s already sponsoring quite a few. He sponsors the anime club, the chess club, and cocoa cafe. He did mention that he’d like to get a board game club up and running.

As stated before, he was previously a social studies teacher. He said how all of his old teachers and fellow staff members always encouraged him to become a librarian. In fact, his own librarian encouraged him to be.

Holman will most likely be at the school for a long time. He’s already made himself at home in the Cougar library. But, this is only the beginning.
