The Red Sox and Dodgers battled it out in this year’s World Series. The Red Sox finished the year with a record of 108-52, placing them in first in the whole league. While their opponent, the Los Angeles Dodgers, finished 92-71, best in their division.

Major League Baseball is America’s game. The World Series hosts the final games of the season, where the best team from the American conference and the National conference collide in the World Series.

This year’s Boston Red Sox team was rated one of the best of all time. They flew through the playoffs allowing only three wins combined. They defeated the New York Yankees 3-1 in the American League Division Series, and defeated the defending champs, Houston Astros, 4-1. The Astros had the second best record in the league, behind the Red Sox.

In the National League Division Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Braves in the NLDS 3-1. They won a close series between the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in the NLCS to advance to the World Series, where they played the Boston Red Sox.

This World Series had so many unforgettable moments and endings. In game four of the World Series, the Dodgers and Red Sox went to 18 innings lasting 7 hours and 20 minutes. Max Muncy ended it with a walk-off home run, leading the Dodgers to their only win in the World Series.

The Red Sox organization is the only organization to go 10-0 after scoring the first run of the game. They achieved this three times in ‘04,’07, and ‘18, all winning the World Series.

The Dodgers were defeated in game 4 after ruining a four point lead. That is the only time in Dodgers postseason history that they have lost after leading by four or more.

On October 28th, 2018, the Red Sox won their 4th title in 14 years. Some say this is the team of the century and the best Red Sox team there ever was.
