This year Netflix released season two of their original show “On My Block.” “On My Block” has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes proving it’s a good show. The first episode of “On My Block” was released on March 16, 2018 and season two was released on March 28, 2019.

Many will tell you season two is crazy but it could get boring at times. Season two was also an emotional roller coaster and it could have you in tears one minute and laughing the next.

I think season two gave us a better understanding of the cast that were a part of season one, but not really talked about, like Monse’s mom. It was a nice touch in the season to have Monse go stay with her mom to compare how life was like before and after Monse stayed there.

Season two also took us on many adventures with a group of 5 kids, including Ruby, Monse, Cesar, Jamal and Jasmine. They were trying to cope with losing their friend Olivia to a shooting that also injured Ruby. In the beginning of the season, it was noticeable Ruby was really struggling without her. Throughout the season, it get easier for all the kids, but there were a few bumps in the road because of Olivia’s death.

While not only having to deal with that, Cesar has to deal with his brother ignoring him and getting kicked out of the gang. Ruby and Jamal offer Cesar’s brother a lot of money to get him back into the gang, which helped him and his brother build their friendship back. They also work together to get the gang that was involved in the shooting of Olivia arrested.

The season was very good overall. I think that over time, it could get a little boring and seemed to drag on at points. I think it was an interesting season and was an emotional roller coaster. I also like how we got introduced to more characters throughout the season.
