Hale considers bringing back improved Cougar Bowl

Writer: Emily PaulEmily Paul

Within the hallways and classrooms, whispers and statements have been stated about New Prairie students wanting their Cougar Bowls back, so of course the issue was taken straight to the head of the cafeteria, Mike Hale.

Hale was aware that the students wanted the Cougar Bowl back. “We are considering bringing the Cougar bowl back, but we would make it more like KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken). They have a sauce they use. We would be doing something like that.” Hale said.

Hale continued, “you would still have your mashed potatoes. We would add better seasoned corn, the chicken, a chicken gravy, and the cheese.”

When Hale shared the news with a student who asked, he said they began to literally dance in the hallway. Hale even joked that they should try to name the bowl after the student.

The nutritional value in the bowl is still there, especially since there is no heavy additive of salts, sugars, and the ingredients are always fresh.

“It’s in heavy consideration for next year, but it is not official yet.” Hale said. Hale even stated that they want to add in even more things to the lunch, like a ramen bar, burrito bar, and build your own pasta. These things would be rotated and there would not be the same things as often. Hale is making sure to help keep New Prairie healthy and happy, one lunch at a time.
