NPHS nurse, Katherine Zielke, says washing hands is a big part of staying healthy. She recommends, “to avoid touching the T zone (eyes, nose and mouth), avoid close contact with people who are sick, get plenty of sleep, be physically active, drink lots of fluids and eat nutritious food.”
She also mentioned, “We also have a great custodial staff who clean and disinfect frequently touched objects like doorknobs.”
According to Anthem, people should “get a flu shot to prevent the flu. While the coronavirus is different from the flu virus, the flu is still a serious illness.”
The website also gave helpful tips about practicing good health habits, “Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when washing isn’t an option. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when you’re sick. That includes staying home from work, school, errands and travel.”
They also said, “Cover a cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, such as phones, keyboards and doorknobs. Be physically active, drink lots of fluids and eat nutritious food.”
